Nicole Lambert

In her youth, Nicole Lambert was already drawing and dreaming up stories.  At the age of sixteen, she became a model and discovered the world very early.  With a passion for drawing, at the age of 21 she registered at the School of Visual and Fine Arts in Paris, and designed toys and children’s clothing.

Nicole Lambert, who considers herself as totally European, is first and foremost an illustrator.  ‘Les Triplés’, her first comic strip, was published for the first time in 1983 in ‘Madame Figaro’ and grew into a real concept in France.  More than three-quarters of women who pick up Madame Figaro first look at ‘Les Triplés’.  In Belgium too, ‘Les Triplés’ are well-known: two years ago, at the Belgian Comic Strip Museum, a special exhibition was organised to mark 20 years of ‘Les Triplés’.

In 1992, ‘Douze petits Européens’ (Twelve Little Europeans) was published, the first book in the ‘Voyages en enfances’ (Childhood journeys) series.  The series has been tremendously popular in France, and gave likeable and charming Nicole Lambert a place among the leading European illustrators.  Petits Européens is the second part of the ‘Voyages en enfances’ series. The book has been published in Dutch, French and English, and is available both online and in all good bookshops.
